Privacy Policy for companies

Zigex is run by SEED Inc, Mawa, Mile 6 Nkwen, Bamenda, Cameroon (“SEED”, “we”, “us”). SEED is responsible for the information described here.

This policy covers the company portal: company accounts and the supervisors they add. How we handle students' information is in the student Privacy Policy.

Your company

• What you add to your profile: name, logo, cover image, description, industry, size, town and address, phone, website, social links, languages and a contact person.
• For verification: registration number, tax number and the documents you upload, such as your registration certificate.

The people who use it

• The sign-in email and a password (stored only in a scrambled, one-way form; we can't read it), and the codes we email at each sign-in.
• Supervisors you add: name, work email, department, WhatsApp number, expertise and a short bio.

What you do on Zigex

• The opportunities you publish, your decisions on applications, interview times, logbook feedback, learning content and announcements.

Automatically

• Basic technical information needed to run and secure the service: IP address, browser and device type, pages requested, and error logs.

• To run the portal: show your profile and opportunities to students, pass on applications, and let your team supervise interns.
• To verify that your company is real, and to keep Zigex safe from fraud and misuse.
• To send what the service needs: sign-in codes, password resets, and notices about your account and your opportunities.
• To answer you when you write to us, and to improve Zigex.

• Students see your public profile and the opportunities you publish, including the verified mark.
• Your interns see their supervisor's name and the contact details you give for them.
• Your team: supervisors you add see the interns they supervise.
• The Zigex team sees your account and verification documents, to verify you and to help when you ask.
• Service providers who host Zigex, store files and send email for us, only to do that work.

When students apply or intern with you, you receive their information to review and run the opportunity. The Terms for companies set out what you may do with it: use it only for that purpose, keep it secure, and never sell or share it.

• Sign-in cookies keep you signed in. They can't be read by scripts on the page, and they end when you sign out.
• Your browser keeps an unfinished posting draft on your device until you publish it or start over.
• We don't use advertising cookies.

• Your company account, profile and team: until the account is closed.
• Opportunities and applications: for 2 years after the opportunity closes, as in the student policy.
• Internship records (check-ins, logbooks and your feedback): for 2 years after the internship ends.
• Technical logs: up to 90 days.

You can see and change your company's information in the portal at any time. To get a copy of it, correct something you can't change yourself, or close your account and have it deleted, email [email protected] from your sign-in email. We'll answer within 30 days.

• Information travels encrypted (HTTPS), and passwords are stored only in scrambled form.
• Every sign-in needs a code sent to your email, as well as your password.
• Inside SEED, only the people who need it can see company and verification information.

Some of our providers store data in other countries, including in Europe and the United States. When we use them, we require them to protect your information to the same standard as this policy.

We may update this policy. If a change matters, we'll tell you by email or in the portal before it takes effect.
